2. The handheld must have a docking I/O module. The
lower right side of the module has docking pin contacts as
shown below:
If you have a standard I/O module, replace it with a
docking I/O module. Follow the instructions included
with the kit.
3. To use an Archer 2 with the dock, install the insert as
shown below. This step is not required for the Allegro 2.
4. Provide power to the dock and charge the handheld
baeries using the 12VDC charger that came with your
handheld.
5. If the handheld has a connector protector, open it to
reveal the connector ports. Pull it back as shown below.
6. Hold the handheld so the connector ports are at the
boom and the keypad is facing forward. Insert the
handheld into the dock as shown below. Align the
docking pins on the dock with the contacts on the
handheld I/O module. The handheld automatically turns
on.
7. For networking, use an ethernet cable to connect the dock
to an ethernet switch or to an internal network.
8. Use communication software to communicate with
the handheld over an ethernet network. Follow the
instructions included with the software.
9. You can communicate with the host computer by
aaching the USB cable to the dock and the computer.
Install communication software like ActiveSync on the
computer. Power must be applied to the dock to use USB.
10.
Insert your handheld into the dock, make sure it is
charging, and leave it. Synchronization automatically
occurs.
11. The handheld can be used when it is in the dock. The
keys are all accessible.
Note: Do not have both the USB and ethernet connected to the
handheld at the same time. The communication software will not
know which connection it should communicate through.
